Project Report: EMS York, New Market, ON (LEED)

Upper picture: The green roof at the EMS York building was designed as a scarf that hangs from the roof to the ground. The green roof was installed with the ZinCo Ecoraster system to ensure proper retaining of the growing medium.

Project Report: Vandusen Garden Occulus, Vancouver, BC

Upper picture: View on the occulus roof of the visitors centre at Vandusen Gardens. The building is designed as a flower of a native orgid. The green roofs are located on the petals of the flower.

Installation of the ZinCo Georaster. Additional shear barriers where used to accommodate to load requirements.

 

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS



Project Report: Warehouse Australie, Amsterdam/Netherlands

Upper picture: This green roof project was part of a renovation of the 19th century warehouses located on the waterfront of “Het IJ” in Amsterdam. The old warehouse
“Australië” was integrated into a new residential building and on a portion of this new building the green roof was created


Two layers of Georaster® filled with growing medium ensure proper supply of water and nutrients for the vegetation.




Project Report: Fire Station, Grindelwald,Switzerland

Upper picture: An extensive green roof was used on the Grindelwald Fire station to blend it in to the surrounding landscape. Hot water solar collectors are located on the roof to warm the water of the outdoor swimming pool.

The green roof flows wave-like up-wards to the road above. The building is incorporated aesthetically into the mountainside as a result.


An extensive green roof was installed along with Georaster® elements that are layed down from the bottom upwards.
