Extensive Green Roofs
Extensive landscaped roofs are an ecological alternative for conventional surfaces like gravel roofs and their installation and maintenance costs are only marginally higher. Suitable plants include types of moss, Sedum species, herbs and some grasses. Once installed and planted, the roof will look after itself and will only require inspection and maintenance once or twice a year.
Sedum Carpet – the Time-tested Ecological Protection Layer!
“Sedum Carpet” is a low, ground-covering, extensive green roof vegetation, which, in the appropriate climate, can be set on a growing mediumlayer of approx. 80-100 mm. The “Sedum Carpet” is largely used in cases where a low weight and low maintenance costs are stipulated. The various low-growing Sedum species belonging to the “Sedum Carpet” plant community are spread as shoots, applied as plants with small root balls or pre-grown vegetation mats. The main flowering season of the “Sedum Carpet” is in early summer and the dominating colours are yellow and red/white.

Sloping Meadow with Gradients up to 20°
Extensive landscaping is most often used on flat roofs but it can also be applied on sloping roofs. However, for gradients of more than 10° the build-up of layers must be modified to suit the different conditions. The force-relieving Floraset® FS 75 elements, a mat with higher water retention levels and a Jute anti-erosion net are all used in this case.

Steep Sloping Meadow with Gradients up to 35°
The ZinCo Georaster® elements provide roofs which have a gradient of over 25° with a safe and long-lasting landscaping solution with effective force-relief. Thanks to their small size, they leave a relatively large area, which is suitable for rooted plants. The choice of plants must, of course, fit the extreme location: the south-side will feature high levels of solar radiation and the rainwater will drain off quickly.
